SBR - Weekly Casuals 09.16.10

Sorry about the two day late upload. I've been a little busy bartending and planning for the FFXIV release next week. Congrats on CP's new red shoes, let's see some tatsumakis with them! We missed out on a few regulars for our game night, but we turned it into a really fun event with commentaries. Our featured match was more casual than it was serious, but we enjoyed ourselves. YEAOOOOW!

SBR - Weekly Casuals 09.09.10

Tonight was also the night for the NFL kickoff, but that didn't bother the weekly gamers. They were here for one thing: Super Street Fighter 4 (and a little Blazblue). We talked a little about how we could make the next tournament a big one, and jumped straight into the featured match. Apparently, this match was between two tournament regulars at the Souper Bowl. The person on the left, Rich, (Teams Tournament winner) was playing against Rob Stevens (Multiple Tournament Winner). It was a nasty matchup and it went all the way into the final rounds. Plenty of professional execution in here.

Two Weeks left until the September Tournament! Get your pre-register on at Tonamento.com!

Weekly Game Night at the Souper Bowl 09/02/10

Recap from yesterday night:

A storm was approaching, but that didn't bother the gamers who came yesterday night. Casually trickling in from the hot weather, they warmed up with a few Street Fighter 4 matches. Hungry from the warm-up, we ordered some food (Chicken fried rice, spicy tofu, beef teriyaki, Pho, crab rangoons...etc).

We had a casual dinner chatting about how they came to enjoy the game, and if they had any comments about their gameplay last tournament. We also talked about the gaming community in the Massachusetts region, and how we needed more people to step up and add to the gaming pool. Hopefully, the owl365 project will help reach out to people and strengthen this community.

On a final note, we decided to throw in a low-pressure feature match between asiantom and LuckyD. Why? Because we wanted to. On the line: $4, and bragging rights for the week.

"Souper" Street Fighter IV Tournament Season Premiere!

We may be jumping the gun by announcing this tournament before the completion of the August Season Finale, but we hope to draw in the back-to-school gamers. We already printed out 100 fliers, and 10 posters for this event. Hopefully, with some social networking, we can pull in a larger crowd and make it a little more exciting. More people, more prize money! Get hyped!

Sixth Tournament - Theme requested by CP, SHORYUKEN!
Think you've got what it takes to win it all? Want the tournament experience? Participate!

"Souper" Street Fighter IV Tournament Season Finale!

We're only two days away from the summer showdown at noon. We're expecting a large turnout as people try to squeeze in their last seasonal tournament on August 29, 2010. Will CP be sick that day? Will Arturo Sanchez make his return with Team Spooky? Or will the Even Stevens take back their title?

This month's theme is for LuckyD, the biggest crowd hyperizer my establishment has ever seen! Good Luck!
Invite your friends, this is going to be one hell of a toss-up! Who's side are YOU on?

Remember the good ol' days?

I have tried to salvage whatever information I could for the events below. Please note that there have been unofficial Yugioh Tournaments as well as unofficial Super Smash Bros Tournaments not documented here. Regardless, both had great turnouts each time, with more and more professionals at each event. From the events below, it should be noted that the July 25th Street Fighter event was the most surprising due to the appearance of Arturo "sabin" Sanchez, and Team Spooky.

First Tournament- 44 Entrants (Winner: Rob "weaksauc3" Stevens)

Second Tournament - 46 Entrants (Winner: Rob "weaksauc3" Stevens)
Third Tournament - 32 Entrants (Winner: Rob "weaksauc3"Stevens)
Fourth Tournament - 43 Entrants (Winner Arturo "sabin" Sanchez, Team Spooky)
Information for this tournament needs to be updated
Were you there? If so, drop a comment/memory! If you weren't stick around for the next one! Special thanks to Tom Hoang, Stephen Kelley, and Chandara Chea for helping with the organization of these events!
